Thank my lucky....Scouts??

Ok I HAVE to share this story! Last night as I was running out the door to Zumba, Stratton decided to throw the fit of the century, so I tried to calm him down before I left. Leaving him sorta fixed I was running late!! I got to Zumba about 5 minutes late and jumped outta the car and bolted inside. Once in the room I realized I didn't have my keys!!! I decided to keep working out and see if I could find them afterward. When Zumba was out I asked the girl at the front desk if anyone had turned some in. No one had. I headed out to check my car and as I'm walking over to the car I hear it running!!!! And its locked! I wanted to cry! (For story purposes you must know that Justin's car has been undriveable for about 2 weeks now, and my keys were lost!! I had the only working car and only not-MIA keys). I called Justin twice and he didn't answer. All my insurance info was in my wallet at home so I could call to see if we had road side assistance! I called the police and in Provo they won't open your car unless there is a baby locked inside. My only option was to call a tow company or locksmith and they charge like booko bucks to open it for you!! At this point I am so sad and we don't have the money to have someone open it AND my car has been running for an hour wasting our gas!!! I must have done something right that day because as I was sitting in the lobby of the rec center, trying to figure out what to do, a scout group and their leaders came to do some swimming. The girl at the counter asked if any of them knew how to open locked cars and 1 did as long as he had his tools!!! I was SO relieved! So he and I went out to his car to see if he had his tools and....he didn't. :( BUT he said he still had a solution! He had Triple A insurance and they open locked cars for free!!! So out of the goodness of his heart he called and they came about 30 minutes later and I was saved!!! I couldn't thank him enough for being willing to help me!! You can bet I will be at every scout auction and fundraiser this year!

Hold the Phone!

I don't know how it happened but it did....my 15 month old went from a mess maker to a mess-cleaner-upper. Yes he can pick up messes he makes! Just yesterday he was throwing jars of baby meats on the floor in the kitchen, not my favorite thing, so I kindly asked if he could not do that. Then to my utter surprise he picked them each up individually and put them back in the box!! Talk about Mr. Wonderful, right? Then today while emptying out the kitchen gadgets drawer I watched him put all the stuff back he played with before getting out new stuff. I might be doing something right as a mom:)

Salt Lake Aquarium

OUR trip to the aquarium was SO much fun. We went with Justin's sisters and their girls and loved seeing all the sea creatures! I should have known but didn't plan ahead and Stratton peed thru his clothes right when we got there and no I didn't have any extras! Luckily his shirt was pretty dry! He walked around in a onsie and socks with his sandals! Major fashion fo-pah I know!! He loved looking at the big fish and Oohed and Ahhed over everything!
Ride that Frog!! Yehaw!
Octopus!

A real update!

I decided it was time for a real update on our lives!
STRATTON: He is growing like a weed!! He is loves going outside and playing in the dirt. He says so many words, a few are "ba"(ball), go, no, ooh!, he tries to say thanks, and he can sign please. He loves watching Baby Einstein while I get ready. He is not a climber so we haven't had any troubles with him getting out of his crib or falling off the couch. He does like to walk backwards and say, Whoa, Whoa, until he either falls down or bumps into something but he thinks its hilarious. Books are once again his life. He LOVES more than anything reading Llama Llama Mad At Mama. I put it in a different place on the bookshelf everyday and he finds no matter what! We read that one all the time! He loves to feed himself with a fork and loves, pasta, PB&J, cheesy eggs, cucumbers, smoothies, and dried pineapple. His favorite thing about bathtime is throwing all his toys in the tub from his basket and squealing about it! He is obsessed with belly buttons! He can make the sound of a kiss, so cute! When he is tired he brings me his blanket and b and sometimes even goes and stands by his bed! Then I lay him down and thats it! He sleeps from 8:30-8:30 (give or take) and doesn't wake up during the night. Its AMAZING!! He is ultra attached to his woobie and won't go anywhere without it. He also loves to pull all the pillows off the couch and throw himself on them!
JUSTIN: My hard working man!! He has never stopped amazing me at how hard he works so I can stay home! He loves to play with his remote control airplanes. He is turning 30 in a few days! He and I have been busy entertaining Stratton and spending time together. I feel like we are the luckiest family in the world, because of Justin's work schedule it allows us to be home most of the day together!
ME: I am busy busy taking care and keeping up with Stratton and watching Stevie about 23 hours a week. Stratton loves when he is here and laughs and wants to play with him all day! I am also busy making and selling hooded bath towels. I have sold about 9 so far!! I have been going to Zumba about 4 or 5 times a week and really feel like my energy is up and I can see a difference in my body! I am really looking forward to the summer when we go on our annual family vacation with my family, this year we are going to Bear lake for a week and my grandma and 1/2 sister will be there along with everyone else!!
THIS YEAR: We are planning to move again. Hopefully into a townhome or Condo. We would also like to trade in my Chevy Tracker and get something a little bigger for our family...hoping for a Dodge Durango! We look forward to expanding our family and love getting settled into our perfect lives!

My little goof ball!

Had to post a few funny things Stratton does....
First off, this boy LOVES to wear my head bands. He digs them out of my hair drawer and tries to put them on himself. And if he can't get it on he cries til I do! Then he grins at me and will constantly touch his hair. Haha can you tell he spends most of his time with me!
He LOVES his pillows too! We have a couple throw pillows on the couch and he loves to run across the floor in front of the couch and pull them off. Then he holds them with 2 hands and throws himself on the floor. Laughing and cracking himself up ( and let's face it, us too)!
When its windy out he grabs his hair when the winds blows it and gets this look on his face like, "What the heck is touchin' my hair?". PRICELESS!
He loves belly buttons. His. Mine. Daddy's. LOVES them! He lifts up his shirt all the time to make sure its still there. If dad or mom is showing off theirs he laughs and laughs and has to touch them!
His new word is "Oh!" and he's all dramatic about it! If something falls, "Oh!", if he sees something on the floor, "Oh!", if he finds an old toy he hasn't seen in awhile, "Oh!". Love it!
He is hilarious and keeps us young!

A litle update!

This is the cutest face in the world!!
I had to do a little update on Stratton because over night I swear he changed so much!!
First off, he is full on walking! He is so dang cute too!
He now folds his arms when it's time to pray for food, way way way cute!
He shouts "NO" from the rooftops!
He is a master at playing toss with his football and basketball.
He LOVES basketball in general. Justin had a stake tournament last week and Strat was his biggest cheer leader!

He is a great little waver, and always is willing to give you a kiss or "love" as I call it.
He wants to feed himself with a spoon or fork, no more help from mommy!
And he bites his crib, which I am not a fan of but I did make a fun little teething bumper so no more chunks missing!
He loves his tickle fights and wrestling matches with mommy and daddy!
Our little boy is so grown up!

My Handy-Man!

Let's face it. Justin is AMAZING at working on cars, like out of this world good.
But when it comes to working on something he doesn't know he is a little timid.
So when our washing machine decided to dump water all over the floor, twice! I knew it was time for him to take a look at it.
He was scared like a little bird.
He wanted to call someone to get it fixed.
Me: not so much.
Do you have any idea how much they charge just to come and look at it? No work involved...
Like 75 bucks! No thank you!
So I kindly asked Justin if he would take a look at it. Still not feeling up to it.
No nagging from me just a simple sentence changed it all.
I'll do it myself.
First he laughed at me, then said he would help me find the right tools.
With the tools I needed I pushed the machine into a work safe zone,
used a bolt thingy to take the bolts off the back panel,
wiggled some stuff to make it look like I was hard at work,
then nothing. I was so lost!!
HAHA
My darling of a husband did the rest!
I helped where I could, held up a hose here,
drained a hose there,
pushed when told to.
We spent 3 hours fixing it and putting it back together
and it doesn't leak anymore!
It seriously was the best day ever! Both the babies slept through the entire thing
and we laughed and giggled the whole time!
Talk about perfect!
I think my favorite part of the day was when we were saying our family prayer that night at bedtime Justin thanked Heavenly Father for our broken washer that we could fix and bond together over.
He's a fixer and a keeper:)
I love my Handy-man!

My love of new things!

Okay, its about time we did something about our poor new bookcase.
First off look at it!
Its pretty amazing!!
Cherry wood...
Tall...
Amazing right?
Well in all its glory its hard to fully appreciate it due to all the toys and clutter!!
Not only is it full, its overflowing onto the sides!!
Not a very proud moment for me!
Next, look at my perfect son's adorable room.Beautiul cherry wood furniture...
Adorable home-made curtains...
Lots of fun toys...
Complete disaster!
Poor son couldn't play with his toys even if he wanted to!
They are everywhere!!
Thank goodness for mom's and their great ideas!
Over the weekend while in Idaho my mom bought the life savor of cluttered toys!
I HAD to have one myself!!
Drum roll please.....

Goodbye Scraggle!

I love that Stratton was born with TONS of hair!
Never have we seen him without any, which I love!
I prayed I would have a baby with hair.
But after seeing this
I knew it was time for a trim!
He may or may not have cried through the ENTIRE thing!I think it looks perfect!!

This and That!

I haven't posted my latest creations in awhile!
And I hate to toot my own horn
BUT
I have been pretty impressed with myself lately!
Ha
For starters I made this funky bath towel for Stratton's Birthday.
I think I am going to start selling them! Here is his birthday cake....Okay, I meant for it to look like giraffe print, because we are way into giraffes.
BUT it came out looking like a dinosaur egg....
SO we went that!
I have been a cooking fool the past few weeks and tried my hand at cinnamon rolls!
They were delicious! And this is Justin's
all-time-favorite-he-could-eat-it-everyday-for-the-rest-of-his-life-that's-how-amazing-it-is meal.
Onion chicken! Ta-da!

More of a reflection than a birthday post

Feeling a little nostalgic today...
I think I will always be amazed at my little boy...
I don't think I'll get over how fast time is going by...
I know that the past 22 months (pregnancy to now) have been the best months of my life...
A picture's worth a thousand words...
